The Aims of ERA 1. To support all fulltime and volunteer Rangers and Wardens of England through the exchange of advice, experience and best practice 2. To raise the profile of the role of Rangers, Wardens and Volunteers in England and encourage Government and the public to value the work of Rangers, Wardens and Volunteers in the protection of the environment (this includes rural, suburban and urban environments) 3. To encourage the adoption of a more ethical and value led approach to Nature Conservation and Countryside Recreation management 4. To encourage each Ranger and Warden to commit to the improvement of our industry through continued personal development and (most importantly) through assisting in the development of others 5. To network with other Ranger Associations and like-minded organisations and individuals from around the world in pursuit of our aims 6. To adopt and be guided by the International Ranger Federation's Losehill Hall Principles, which were ratified by the International Ranger Federation at the 3rd World Congress (Kruger Park, South Africa 2000) | Membership Categories Membership is open to anyone who shares our Aims and would like to support the work of the ERA Only Ranger and Student Members will be entitled to vote at ERA AGM's and on constitutional matters Ranger - Open to anyone who is a Ranger, Warden, Volunteer Ranger, or who has been a Ranger / Warden in the past and supports the ERA's aims. We will accept membership applications from people whose job title may not be Ranger or Warden but feel they actually do undertake the work of a Ranger. (please contact the Secretary if you would like to join as a Ranger member but are not sure if your job role or title qualifies you) Membership is free - but donations are most welcome! Ranger Supporter - For anyone who supports the aims of ERA, but is not a Ranger, Warden or Volunteer. Membership again is free, but a donation of £10 is requested Student Ranger - For anyone at college or university with aspirations of becoming a Ranger or Warden. | If you wish to join the English Ranger Association please contact the Secretary at We need your Name & Contact Address and the category you wish to apply for. To save costs and paper our newsletter and regular updates will be emailed to you so we need to know your preferred email address. We would also like to know which organisation you work or volunteer for. If you are a student we would like to know which college and course you are studying.
