‘Rangers and Enforcement’
Whilst most of the people we deal with respect the role we have in providing Conservation and visitor management services, there is an increasing trend of Countryside Staff and Volunteers having to suffer verbal and physical abuse.
This course is a must for any frontline Ranger, Warden or Volunteer who occasionally has to enforce bylaws, Orders (such as car parking), Rules or Regulations. Or who has to deal with complaints from people.
Led by an ex-policeman John Yabsley the two day course covers subjects such PACE (police and criminal evidence act), note taking, dealing with difficult people and how not to put yourself in danger.
We also look at procedures and processes to ensure that we maintain our role as Rangers and do not stray into Policing of our sites.
The course will take place at Queen Elizabeth Country Park, in Hampshire, the cost
and exact date are still to be decided but will be in the region of £100 and is likely to take place in January 2009.
The course fee includes tea and coffee but not lunch (There is a café on site)
Meet at 9.00am for coffee and introductions
The course will end each day at 4.00pm
If the demand is there we will be able to repeat this course in the midlands and the north of England
